Days Calculator FAQ

Does the days calculator count leap years?

Yes. The calculator uses real calendar arithmetic, so February 29 is included whenever it falls inside your date range. A range spanning a leap year simply contains 366 days for that year.

How is this different from the date calculator?

The days calculator focuses on counting days between two dates, including business-day-only counts. The date calculator also adds or subtracts days, weeks, months, and years from a starting date.

Can I count days until a future event?

Yes. Set the start date to today and the end date to your event. The result shows the total days remaining plus a breakdown in weeks and days for easier planning.

Does the day count include both start and end dates?

By default the difference excludes the start date (the standard "days between" convention), and the inclusive total including both endpoints is shown alongside. The convention is labeled on every result so you can match it to whatever your task requires.

How many days are left in the year?

Set the start date to today and the end date to December 31 of the current year. In a common year the inclusive total lands between 1 and 365, and in a leap year up to 366 — useful for annual budget pacing, benefits deadlines, and vacation-day planning.

Can I get the result in weeks and months too?

Yes. Weeks divide cleanly (total days ÷ 7), while months are shown as calendar-accurate months plus days rather than a fixed 30-day approximation, because actual month lengths vary from 28 to 31 days.
